The nature and use of this prototype machine is proprietary, so I won't describe it. It features a totally mechanical tension sensing and control system that keeps tape tightly wound on on the rim and the hub of the machine as the tape is transferred back and forth between the two. It contains cams, bearings (sleeve, ball, pillow-block), shafts, belts (o-ring and timing), pulleys, gears, springs, roller clutches, a ratchet, a motor, and a counterweight.
